About the Conference

The Centre for Women and Child Rights (CWCR) and Kautilya Centre for Law and Economics (KCLE) at the National Law University, Tripura (NLUT), in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura, are pleased to announce a National Conference on “From Vulnerability to Justice: Tackling Human Trafficking in Northeast India”, scheduled to be held on August 25, 2025, in Hybrid Mode.

About the Organisers

National Law University, Tripura (NLUT), established under Act No. 3 of 2022, is India’s 25th National Law University located in Agartala. NLUT is committed to academic excellence and progressive legal education under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh.

Centre for Women and Child Rights (CWCR) is an initiative of NLUT promoting interdisciplinary research, legal advocacy, and community engagement focusing on gender justice and child rights.

Kautilya Centre for Law and Economics (KCLE) aims to explore the intersections of law and economics through research, discourse, and policy engagement to address contemporary socio-legal challenges.

Directorate of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura, is the nodal department implementing various schemes for the welfare of vulnerable populations including women and children.

  • Word limit: 6000–8000 words (including footnotes)
  • Font: Times New Roman, Size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified
  • Citation: Indian Law Institute (ILI), New Delhi style
  • Must include: Abstract (250 words), author details, and originality declaration
